REJOICE

We rejoice with the angels over the birth of a new sister. Raelle Johnston, daughter of John and Christina Johnston, was baptized Saturday night, February 18^th, at Winterfest. Please welcome and encourage her.

•  Sondra Law (visitor) requests our prayers as she has congestive heart failure and will be having a defibrillator put in soon.

THANK YOU

Thank you so much for the outpouring of love you have shown me and my family in the last few months and weeks leading up to my Mom’s death. I appreciate so much the calls, cards, visits, texts, the beautiful peace lily and encouraging gifts. Some of the texts in particular were obviously the Holy Spirit working through God’s people as they were perfectly timed. Thank you also to those who drove a long way to be with us at the visitation and funeral, it meant so much. Thank you also to Debbie Baucum and all my Happy Times family for allowing me to be gone for an extended time to be with my Mom. Please keep us in your prayers as we navigate life without Mom. My stepdad found out on the day of the funeral that he has cancer in one of his kidneys.

SHIFT YOUR FOCUS: Lessons from 1^st Corinthians

Last week we finished the first section of our 1^st Corinthians study where Paul urges the church to focus on God’s ways rather than having a worldly perspective. In short, we can look in the wrong places for guidance and end up hurting ourselves and our church family. 

Sunday, February 19^th, through April 2 we will be looking at chapters where Paul gets a little more specific, admonishing the church in Corinth to be intentional about their own selfishness. Our goal should be the same, to admit our own selfish desires and deal with them by focusing on God’s desires for our daily living.
